Literary Devices
There were many literary devices used in this novel, some of them were...
Flashback - Used to flashback into previous conversations and lives to make the present story make sense. For example, Joanna had a flashback when thinking about the girls using their wands before she decided to give them back to Freya and Ingrid.
Doppelganger - Refers to a character in the story that is actually a counterfeit or a copy of a genuine character. For example, the person that was behind everything and was trying to destroy the Beauchamps was a shifter that had always shifted to look like Joanna, therefore it was Joanna's doppelganger.
Foreshadowing - Used to imply and hint at something that may be happening soon. For example, througout the entire novel, foreshadowing was used to hint at who was actually the shifter trying to kill the Beauchamps and which of the men Freya would end up choosing, Dash or Killian.
Imagery - Used to give the readers a sense of where they are in the novel, something to describe the place the character is in the create mental images for the readers. For example, in the beggining of the novel imagery was used to describe the Gardiner estate and the inside to give the readers the mental image of the engagement party that was going on for Freya and Bran.
